We got a standard room with an upgrade. City views, King bed. White and friesh with pops of red!
The door peep hole, to die for! This baracudda luves! Mini bar, safe, the closet has a motion sensor inside, so it lights up when you open the doors or walk by. Giant Plasma. Internet, 14.95 per day. Poor cell reception, I have a 4G and couldn't facebook in the hotel!
This place is buzzin', and it was Sunday! The Espy awards were in town. They had a live Jazz band playing in their main room just off the reception, it's called the Living room, connecting to an outdoor area (smokers) both areas had bars. (Live Vintage Jazz and Blues, Sunday nights) We grabbed a drink, headed outside, kicked it on the sofa, people watched while we awaited for our friends arrival.
Our destination this evening, heading to the Avalon nightclub for a Hennessy Event, invited by our friend Fabulous Faatemah Ampey (you may recognize the name from Shear Genius on Bravo) and her husband Dayna, he looks like Denzel (although Faatemah would beg to differ). After a very happy hello, we grabbed a taxi for our 1 minute ride around the corner to the Avalon. There we ordered a Hennessy (cognac) to try, after all we were there to support. We listened to some live performances, met Faatemahs cousin, Wendy Rose Barry, who invited us all to the event, this is her website social butterfly consulting, www.sobutter.com.
After a few hours of fun we walked along the star aligned streets for some food, ended up at Kitchen 24, (Hollywoods only 24 hr diner and bar) Diner style food, we ordered a little of everything on the menu from pancakes and eggs to hamburgers, "SMACK in cheese (truffle oil)", buttermilk chicken... we were hungy!
The pool is on the 12th floor (top floor) we were the first ones out by the pool, the fog burned off by about 11:00ish. FYI: The pool girls are hot, walking around in tanks, booty shorts and wedges, super nice too. The pool is salt water from what I was told by the husbands, although I kept smelling chlorine! The food was quite good, we ordered a turkey club (avacado, tomatoes, on cranberry bread) fries (I suggest the sweet potato) fresh basket of fruit: pinapple, black berrys, oranges, they marinate the fruit in Grand Marnier! super sweet!... yogurt for dipping. I saw lots of amazing looking food being delivered to fellow poolies, ahi salads, fish tacos...
We invited our friend Faatemah and her family to join us poolside, We played in the pool, enjoying the loung-ish music being piped through the speaker system, sipped on sangria sparkling wine drinks, recommended by our poolside hostess. [Pool Video clip] Faatemah little minnies are so precious! Shout out to Brooklyn and Isaiah!
Even though we never made it to play in Drai's, I took some photos of the nightclub for your viewing pleasure. I will be back!
Then it was time for our drive home, usually just 45 minutes, in traffice it was over 2 hours. YUK.
PET FRIENDLY! YES! cat and dog ")
