Just because you bought your tickets online and you have printed tickets in hand, doesn't mean you get to fly, and the airline has no issue with booting you off the plane! YEP!
*Travel Tip: When desperate use the excuse, I lost my ticket! It's easier and cheaper to re-issue a lost ticket than to buy a new one, even if you have your tickets in hand.
We landed in Frankfurt, we almost didn't make
Our friends were gracious enough to offer us their work studio (tile store) to sleep in... it was on the 1st story of their 3 story home had a bathroom and home office, views of their large yard and the Black forest in the distance.

Trier Germany / Bitch France
Day trip
We took a day trip to Trier, Germany. Old cobblestone streets, looked like a village out of Disneyland. Storefronts, large stone castle wall... Very cool. I shopped for some face makeup, bought a french brand of tinted foundation. We enjoyed some snack.
Our friend took us to France to shop for groceries, the store was incredible to say the least, it was a mall with a grocery store within it. Imagine pushing a shopping cart thru the mall with your groceries in it, 2 stories with an escalator for your shopping cart! Very cool!
We tried a meat (reminded me of balogne) Their butcher section is phenomenal, those freshest looking meat I have ever seen displayed and the size of triple if not 5 times our standard meat display. So many varieties of sausage/kielbasas.

Stresa, Italy (Lake Maggiore)
Villa Aminta

Lake Maggiore sits between Switzerland on one end and Italy on the other. We chose to stay at the Villa Aminta on the Italian side in the city of Stresa. (How I was able to find this A very traditional villa overlooking the lake.) Although the front desk attendants spoke english it was nice that our friends spoke Italian. We were given 3 large rooms, 1 with lake views.
* Travel Tip: In Italy, they don't have Quad rooms, which make traveling with a family of 4 pretty expense, because you end up having to buy 2 double rooms (or sneak the fourth person in!)
Drinks, snacks, lake view...
We enjoyed a nice drive along the lake through old villas and lake side chateaus, the old world charms is outstanding.... Market...
The Villa has a pool, kept at a nice chilly temperature! We enjoyed some silly diving and posing with our friends and children.
