OC Fair & Event Center
88 Fair Drive, Costa Mesa, California 92626.
We were here on the very last night of the fair, it was just 11.00 per adult to get in! CHEAP...
but then there was the 7.00 for parking and the additional money to enter some of the booths and of course the rides are about 1.00 per point, you fill up cards and they scan them as you enter the ride or play a booth game. Most rides run on average about 6 tickets per person per ride. They do offer special promotions, discount and deals and sell a Super Pass (http://www.ocfair.com/2011/entertainment/carnival.asp) Food cost anywhere from $3.00 -$ 5.00 for a fried item. Brings lots of cash ~ by the end of the day it's not a cheap night out. Tip: They do allow you to bring in snacks and food and small ice coolers.
DO go on the last day! We scored on a free gold fish, (tip: do not feed your goldfish cheerios, regardless of what you read on google) my husband spun a wheel for a prize (an OCnow cap) at the OCnow.com booth. He landed on a common prize and they gave us a pair of tickets for the Art-a-fair in Laguna. G.Baby got a free balloon, blown up just for her, it was so dead by 11:00 things were beginning to shut down, the carnie's are a whole lot engaging and friendlier. We got a chili cheese "Sausage" in exchange for a hotdog (all the hotdogs were old and trashed by then). The T shirt booth we kept passing by each time became less and less, started off with $5.00, then 5 for 5.00 for shirts, I joked that if we stood around we would have probably landed a free t-shirt! I'll bet if we hung out and stopped at all the booths we would have a load of free stuff.
