Old Town San Diego - Old Town Market
What a great time I had down in San Diego this past weekend with my sister Cathie and cousin Christine, visiting from Oklahoma. The entire day in a cliff note: A quick visit to Coronado Island, a short stint at the Hotel Del Coronado, some candy treats, a nice stroll down the beach, collecting sea shells for jewelry making. Lunch at Night and Day Cafe. Visit with an old friend of my cousins, drinks and conversations down memory lane at the Courtyard Marriott, then shopping at the Old Town Market and lastly a late night search of bioluminescent plankton in Ocean Beach... Perfect.
Located, adjacent to this store were more stores called the Bazaar Del Mundo Shops in a small mini-mall-ish building, two stories to explore and on this day an Art & Fashion festival was going on, with tables set up outside the other stores, selling their wares, jewelery, clothing, accessories, a small two man band playing music.
We found their prices to be a bit more affordable than the first, we were told by the nice woman over at BDM to check those stores out, I think she knew her store was a bit pricey for us.
There is also a restaurant called Casa Guadalajara in the same parking lot looked like a nice place to have lunch or dinner, Hacienda has an outdoor patio, umbrella-ed tables, lights and flags strung across the tree tops.
After taking in all the lovely items in the stores, our cousin met up with an old friend, she led us to some fun downtown, Juan street to be more specific... the Gaslamp District ...
Below are some images I took of the things you will find in these stores.
