Crispins, Comfort Food

Homecooked food for a small price
They bake their own bread, roast their own meats daily
Childrens play area

Being an Irish/Scottish gal, I have to go out on one of my most favorite Holidays. What would St. Patty's be without a hot Cuban/German guy in a kilt on your arm ! High 5s all around ! My youngest daughter joined us. YAY !

We started off St. Patty's with a Birthday Celeberation at Crispins.  Live band playing (a newer band, I believe this was one of their first live/paid gigs, don't quote me on that) A pair of TWINS !  The band is called 6 Year Rewind : they said it has to do with every 6 years we want to change ourselves. I googled it, but found NOTHING on the topic. So maybe they were pulling my leg.

We enjoyed some appetizers of hotwings, jalapeno poppers, nachos and I can't remember the rest...   [menu] (served up by what appeared to be a leprechaun) and I'm SERIOUS. Very slow bar service for this private party. Birthday cake and celebrational toasts for the birthday girl, Beth. The band was perfect for the occasion.

... you can find 6 Year Rewind on their newly made FACEBOOK page. You can view video of them there, to check out their sound.

I didn't get to see much of the restaurant since we were in a side room away from the main restaurant floor, On the way out I stopped to enjoy a moment with the aquarium with puffer fish and angel fish in the reception area. After perusing their website and menu for writing this blog, I think I would like to go back and try them out for some comforting breakfast foods.

OC Tavern (Where there's something for everyone)
San Clemente
Live Music| Sports bar | Horseracing and more !

Next, we were off to watch our brother-in-law, Carl Nelsons' (whad up ma brotha from anotha motha - word) band Neon Nation (the Ultimate Live 80's Experience play at the OC Tavern. ...  Last time I was here was for my husbands High School Reunion July of 2010.

Neon Nation are really, really good ! Dressed up in 80's stylings. Singing all the Best of the 80's hits. Carl is amazing, he's got all the moves, jammin' on the keyboard, gets the crowd really pumped up with his energy and AWESOME dance moves !

Had such a great time flashing back to the 80s, being 80's kids ourselves... Dark room, disco lights, neon glowing. Some of the people were really working up a sweat !

You can catch Neon Nation playing gigs all around the OC...  be sure to check their website and facebook for the details and calendar. We've seen them a few times at various venues and they are always a great show.

As we were leaving my husband was detoured into an adjacent room where they usually have a DJ... he heard some HIP HOP and went in for some kilt bumpin' on the dance floor. HILARIOUS ! I went along with is and captured some good photos and footage. (He would kill me if I posted them, no fun!) Well maybe just 1 photo. :)

Molly Blooms Pub
San Clemente

Restaurant | Pub | Kareokee | Comedy Nights and more !

After that, we decided that we must go next door to finish off our night at Molly Blooms to check out a real Irish pub in action on this official Irish holiday.  Full restaurant, full bar... decor was all decked out in Irish signage.  The crowed wasn't to rowdy or anything, in fect mellow.  The restaurant and bar are split dead center from when you walk in. We hit the bar side and enjoyed an irish beer, people watched a bit and then decided to hit the Harbor House for a late night meal.  Eggs and Corned beef Hash - with avocado and bacon ! My last bad meal - ah yeah, right !
